Hi, my name is Iris.
Every 15 years, I reset my life.
I was born in a small town in Hunan, China. My curiosity and willingness to embrace new challenges led me to leave home at 15 for Singapore on a full-ride government scholarship. There, I developed independence and adaptability. I excelled academically, after obtaining a B.E. in Biomedical Engineering with honors at National University of Singapore, I launched on a professional journey that spans private equity, business development, and management consulting, with a primary focus on the healthcare & life sciences industry.
My career began in management consulting, where I worked with global businesses such as Roche, Johnson & Johnson, Siemens, and IQVIA on market launches and competitive intelligence. Later, seeking more business development (BD) and sales experience, I joined Corning as a BD manager in its Emerging Innovations Group, launching Corning's most innovative products in Southeast Asia, generating $2M+ prospects in under six months. In the three years before pursuing my MBA in the U.S., I became a private equity investor, focusing on investing in various healthcare opportunities, including contract research and development organizations, multi-site clinics, and medtech manufacturers, with an equity range of $20 million to $1 billion.
After six years as an investor, operator, and consultant, and 15 years in Singapore, I embraced my entrepreneurial spirit and moved to the U.S. to pursue the "American Dream." I cofounded a biotech startup dedicated to developing a novel treatment for cancer patients. Although the company was ahead of its time, I remain driven by our mission to improve healthcare for all.
I am now actively seeking a business to buy and operate long-term in the healthcare industry in the U.S., so that I can best align my past experiences with my passion.
In my free time, I love embarking on adventures, whether big or small — scuba diving, snowboarding, hiking, travelling, and indulging in food hunting. I look forward to sharing these experiences in the future with my newborn son!
